Backyard Drinking Games To Take Your Summer Party To The Next Level

Summer is right around the corner, and what better way to spend it than with friends, cold beers, and backyard drinking games, right? Hosting a party with fun drinking games is the perfect way to spice up your summer gathering. Here are some ideas to take your party to the next level with Frio Beer and backyard drinking games.

Beer Pong Battle Ship

Everyone has probably already heard about Beer Pong, as it is one of the most classic party drinking games… but have you ever played Beer Pong Battleship? It is a fun and unique variation of the traditional beer pong game. The instructions for playing the game are as follows:

  1. Set up a regular beer pong table and fill the cups with beer as you would for a regular game of beer pong.
  2. On each end of the table, arrange a set of 10 cups in a 4x2 pattern. The cups should be spaced out, with some space in between them.
  3. Each set of cups represents a "battleship" that the opposing team will try to sink with their shots.
  4. Before the game starts, each team secretly chooses the location of their battleships by writing them down on a piece of paper. Each battleship must be a single row or column of cups. For example, a battleship could be the cups in the second row from the back, or the cups in the fourth column from the left.
  5. Once the battleships have been chosen, the game begins. Each team takes turns shooting a ping pong ball at the other team's battleships. If a ball lands in a cup, that cup is removed from the table and the team takes another shot.
    1. If a team sinks all of their opponent's battleships before their own are sunk, they win the game.
    2. If a ball lands in a cup that is not part of a battleship, the cup is removed but the team does not get another shot.
    3. If a ball bounces off the table or hits the floor before landing in a cup, the shot does not count.
    4. If a team sinks all of their opponent's battleships and still has cups remaining on their own side of the table, they can choose to continue shooting at their own cups in an attempt to clear their side of the table.
    5. As with regular beer pong, if a team makes all of their shots in a turn, they get to shoot again.
    6. The game continues until one team has sunk all of their opponent's battleships and cleared their own side of the table, or until both teams agree to end the game. ‌

    Remember, always drink responsibly.

    Cornhole

Cornhole is another classic backyard game that is perfect for a summer party. The game involves two boards set up with a hole in the center of each board. Players take turns throwing bean bags at the opposite board, trying to land them in the hole or on the board. Each bag that lands on the board is worth one point, and each bag that goes in the hole is worth three points. The first team to reach 21 points wins.
To make the game more interesting, you can add different rules, such as "cancellation scoring" where the points of each team cancel out, and only the difference in points is added to the leading team's score.

    Giant Jenga

If you’re a sucker for the classic Jenga game, we’re here to tell you that Giant Jenga is about to become your favorite drinking game. All you need to play is a giant Jenga set, a couple of permanent markers and Frio Beer. First, take the Giant Jenga set, grab a couple of permanent markers and tattoo each wooden block with an action the player will have to do when they pull the block. Feel free to be as creative as you want with these actions; they could be either ordinary tasks or crazy dares. Then, place each block on the tower face down so players aren’t able to see the task before they pull it, making it more intriguing and exciting. If the player refuses to complete the task or dare, then they have to finish their drink. If a player knocks the tower over, then they have to finish their drink as well.

    Kan Jam

Kan Jam is a newer backyard game that has gained popularity in recent years. The game involves two teams, each with a goal set up on opposite ends of the playing area. The goal consists of a round, plastic container with a slit on top and a small hole on the side. The objective is to throw a frisbee and hit the goal or throw it through the small hole in the side. The first team to reach 21 points wins.
To make the game more interesting, you can add different rules, such as "instant win" where if the frisbee goes directly into the hole without touching the goal, the game is immediately over. ‌
